Hey there! My name is Thaw Thaw, and I am from Myanmar. I am currently a sophomore majoring in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience at the University of Michigan. Since joining MISS, I have met amazing people and built genuine friendships along the way. I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and helping create spaces where everyone feels welcome and supported. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, trying out new restaurants, and baking or cooking new recipes whenever I get the chance. Hi! My name is Aline, and I’m a French and Japanese exchange student from Waseda University in Tokyo. I joined MISS in the Fall 2025 and am excited to be serving as the Recruitment Chair for Winter 2026! My role is all about helping new members feel welcome and connected from their very first interaction with MISS. As an international exchange student myself, I understand how important community can be and I hope to make MISS a space where everyone feels comfortable and excited to get involved. Hi!! My name is Myint and I’m from Mandalay, Myanmar. I’m currently a sophomore at the University of Michigan studying Neuroscience on a Pre-Health track, and I’m hoping to minor in Business. I’m part of the Alexandria class and I’m serving as this year’s Economics Chair for MISS. I joined MISS because I love meeting new people from all over the world and building new friendships. Hi everyone! I’m Sarah Hossain, a junior majoring in Psychology and Cognitive Science. I grew up between Japan and Bangladesh, which definitely shaped my curiosity and love for meeting new people. I'm part of the Class of Alexandria and super excited to serve as your Marketing Chair this year! Wei Hong
Professional Development Chair
Hi everyone! My name is Wei, and I was born and raised in mainland China. I am currently a junior at the University of Michigan studying Economics and Global Media, and I am also active in the Michigan Equity Research Club outside of MISS. I belong to the Class of Alexandria and joined MISS in Winter 2025, with one of my favorite memories being the MISS Halloween party. MISS, with one of the most extensive and diversified ranges of professional and academic expertise both domestically and internationally, has incredible potential for a robust professional network. As the Professional Development Chair, I hope to help establish a stronger networking culture while bringing high-quality professional resources to MISS, so that interested members can explore, understand, and pursue career- and major-related opportunities. I am super excited to meet all of you again, or for the first time.
